7 Random Facts About Me:

I got tagged by Ronalyn, so these are my 7 random facts. If you get to the end of this post and you are dying to know more about me--which I'm sure you are ;), just click here for 8 more, lol!

  1. I dream of making my love of photography into a business in about 10 years or so (after I take some photography classes and hone my skills, lol!). I just LOVE capturing memories.
  2. I spent a year in France as an exchange student in college and visited Spain and Italy (Italy twice). It was one of the most awesome experiences of my life, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything, but I was really glad to get back home to America when the year was up :)
  3. When I was little, my favorite books were the “Little House” series. I was completely fascinated that people actually lived like that. I was so enthralled with that way of life that I used to wish desperately that I could have been born in that time period. Now I look back and think how crazy I was … and how much I would miss all my technology and kitchen “helps”: dishwasher, microwave, blender, mixer, computer, music, TV, indoor plumbing, phones, cars, etc.
  4. I really do like living in a tiny house: much less to clean, it’s so much easier to keep an eye on the kids, and you have to declutter often because there's nowhere to put stuff.
  5. I have a few things in common with Kate on Jon.and.Kate.+.8: I need my privacy, my “space” if you will. I love to be alone, and I have very little sense of style or fashion (you can ask Ashley to verify that, lol!). I’m not bagging on Kate at all—she mentioned it herself during the show. Oh, and I’m married to an Asian.
  6. My ideal day would involve NO chores at all (not even taking care of the kids) and doing only hobbies: scrapbooking, photography, Photoshop (editing photos or scrapbooking), sewing, or quilting. I would be hard pressed to choose among all these hobbies :-D
  7. I can’t wait to be a grandparent someday--all the fun and very little responsibility! Notice I said someday ... not anytime soon!

Missing You

We've been having internet problems since last Friday evening. It goes on and off sporadically. Someone should be coming today to fix it (and of course it's working perfectly right now, lol!). I don't usually blog in the middle of the day (too much house stuff to do) , but I gotta grab the internet while I can. I'm desperate! It has actually startled me to realize how connected I am to all of you--even you, Ronalyn, and I have never met you. I have so missed reading blogs, commenting on them, and posting. I have really felt disconnected to you all (yeah, I'm a "recovered hick" but I can't erase that expression from my vocabulary--however, I don't say, "y'all." I do draw the line there. Sorry if I'm offending anyone--as in my sister and brother-in-law, but I don't consider you guys hicks.) . So I hope the person who comes to repair the internet issue can perform a miracle so I don't have to miss you anymore :)

Feb Year In Review Layouts

Just a quick post tonight. It dawned on me a few days ago that I'm already behind in my "Year . In . Review" layouts, so I put February's together. Believe it or not, for such a simple concept, these layouts took about three hours combined. I couldn't believe it! Anyway, these photos depict the highlights of February. Maybe tomorrow I'll do March :) (I wonder how many hours that will take?!) Just in case you're wondering, Carlos is still sick--no fever, just a sore throat now. Hopefully he'll go back to school on Tuesday ('cause I need some "me" time before I turn into a monster, lol!). 'Cause as you all know, life is all about me, right ;) Happy Monday, y'all!

Nehemiah: Sheep Gate (Symbolism)

hubpages.com http://www.prayfordetroit.com/ As I mentioned in my Nehemiah  post, God has nudged me this summer to study Nehemiah in depth because He has some things He wants to show me.  I am just starting Chapter 5, and I must say it is so exciting and interesting. I have to admit, though, that when I got to Chapter 3, it just looked like one of those boring chapters: it gave all the boring details about each section of the wall of Jerusalem that was being rebuilt, and gave countless names of the people who rebuilt each section.  I was going to skip it and move on to Chapter 4 when I felt the Lord nudge me to look deeper--that there was something here that He wanted to show me.   So I dutifully sought the Lord (and a research book, and the internet!) , and was ASTOUNDED at the incredible layers of symbolism in the names of the gates!  It has turned out to be my favorite chapter so far.  :)  God is incredibly amazing, huh?   The big pi...
