A dress! Yipee!

We had to go shopping today (I say, "had to" because I am one of a few anomolies (sp?) of the female species who loathe shopping--yes, there actually are others :) Anyway, Ashley needs a swimsuit because she's going to the beach with the Youth tomorrow, and she doesn't have one (just in case you're wondering, I excel at procrastination ;) ). I told her I would take her to Wal-Mart and Target--that's all I was up for. Of course, we went to both stores and she didn't find a bathing suit she likes. BUT, my torture wasn't all in vain, as she found a dress she liked! She NEVER wears dresses, so I am so excited that she actually bought one. And, apparently she got lots of compliments on it, so maybe this will start a new "feminine" trend. Yeah!

Oh, what's she going to do about a swimsuit tomorrow? Her answer: she's not going to get wet. Let's see, beach, sand, ocean waves, friends swimming. Yes, I'm sure she won't so much as dip her little toe in the water ... ;)

Ta ta for now! Thanks for visiting! Yes, that's her in her new dress.

Ashley looks beautiful in that dress! Good job, Ashley! By the way, did that "errand" have anything to do with the movies? LOL!

She did look fabulous in that outfit last night at church. Very pretty on her. And it shows off her gorgeous skin tone. Lucky little girl going on 18. :)

Hey Carmela,
I just left a comment for your comment on my blog!
I wholeheartedly agree with Teena & Donna...tell Ashley she looks gorgeous...I can't believe how old she looks.
My little girlie just graduated from COLLEGE. Are we getting old??? Good luck with the bathing suit shopping...sounds torturous. :-)

Love ya!

I have to edit my previous comment. I said "lucky little girl going on 18." It actually was a play on something Carmela said about Ashley last night. She is not going on 18 - give her a few more years...:0

I did make it sound that way though...sorry.

Wow! I am so bugged that I never post anymore. Facebook is just so much easier. I'll just keep it simple-- random data: today I had Pho (Vietnamese soup) for the first time and LOVED it!! Seriously, you haven't lived till you've tried it :) I created two and a half sketches of future layouts, and halfway finished two more layouts. really on a paper-scrapping frenzy! This is one sketch: I joined the Facebook group "I grew up in Fairfield, IL, and thought I would die of boredom (but I didn't)" :D ... you have to have grown up in a dinky town to "get it" had a "day off from life" hanging out at my in-laws house all day ... ahhh! gotta love days like that I can't believe it's almost June already

Feb Year In Review Layouts

Just a quick post tonight. It dawned on me a few days ago that I'm already behind in my "Year . In . Review" layouts, so I put February's together. Believe it or not, for such a simple concept, these layouts took about three hours combined. I couldn't believe it! Anyway, these photos depict the highlights of February. Maybe tomorrow I'll do March :) (I wonder how many hours that will take?!) Just in case you're wondering, Carlos is still sick--no fever, just a sore throat now. Hopefully he'll go back to school on Tuesday ('cause I need some "me" time before I turn into a monster, lol!). 'Cause as you all know, life is all about me, right ;) Happy Monday, y'all!

A Pleasant Surprise

So, I was just going about my business today--you know, life as usual, chores, kids, homework, dinner, etc., and I get a call from my husband around 8:00 p.m. that he's bringing a friend over to the house for dinner. I have met this friend a few times (Hi, Bobby!!), but we haven't seen each other for years (they live in San Francisco). After the initial excitement wore off (about three seconds later), I realized there's NO RICE in the house. That's a huge problem, considering he's Filipino and eats rice every day. So I made a quick Yoshinoya run, and pulled up in the driveway just before them. We had a great visit. The time just flew. We had a lot to catch up on. He is one of several high school and college friends that my husband still keeps in touch with. It is always mind-boggling to me that they all grew up together in the Philippines, yet several of them have made their way to California. Pretty cool, huh? This is the friend who graced us with his pre...
