God's Answer to my Prayer Life

My Mom's group made a Prayer Journal last year as a craft, and it was exactly what I needed to jumpstart and organize my prayer life (so I'm not so overwhelmed praying for every need every day). I absolutely love my prayer journal. But it is starting to fall apart, and basically because "prayer needs" change on a fairly regular basis, I needed to just make a new one. Then the Lord prompted me to make one for Ashley as well. She was delighted (much to my delight!). So I made hers today, and I am so excited that I wanted to share it.
This is her very own personalized cover (thanks to a ShabbyPrincess freebie and Photoshop Elements!). (Sorry, I have no idea how to rotate the photo for you!)

This is the back cover. It has her favorite Scripture (Psalm 91). She was very concerned that you wouldn't be able to read it, but I assured her that once you found out it was Psalm 91 you would all rush to get your Bibles and read it right away :) (Isn't she too sweet??!!)

This is how the inside looks with all the tabbed dividers, and ...

last but not least, this is one page from the inside. Her page is a lot cuter than mine! What a little twelve-year-old, huh?!

I'm so excited! I'm going to work on mine next. I told her that she can take it to Missionettes this year and write down the prayer requests of the other girls so she remembers to pray for them during the week. Debbie, it's too bad you won't be there to be my secret spy and tell me if she does:) just kidding! (or, "jk" as Ashley would say!) It's totally up to her.

Another great thing to do! I had a prayer journal for my boys although it was just a notebook with their pics stuck to the pages. I have not been consistent with it so now I am using my cell phone alarms to prompt me!

Missing You

We've been having internet problems since last Friday evening. It goes on and off sporadically. Someone should be coming today to fix it (and of course it's working perfectly right now, lol!). I don't usually blog in the middle of the day (too much house stuff to do) , but I gotta grab the internet while I can. I'm desperate! It has actually startled me to realize how connected I am to all of you--even you, Ronalyn, and I have never met you. I have so missed reading blogs, commenting on them, and posting. I have really felt disconnected to you all (yeah, I'm a "recovered hick" but I can't erase that expression from my vocabulary--however, I don't say, "y'all." I do draw the line there. Sorry if I'm offending anyone--as in my sister and brother-in-law, but I don't consider you guys hicks.) . So I hope the person who comes to repair the internet issue can perform a miracle so I don't have to miss you anymore :)

Feb Year In Review Layouts

Just a quick post tonight. It dawned on me a few days ago that I'm already behind in my "Year . In . Review" layouts, so I put February's together. Believe it or not, for such a simple concept, these layouts took about three hours combined. I couldn't believe it! Anyway, these photos depict the highlights of February. Maybe tomorrow I'll do March :) (I wonder how many hours that will take?!) Just in case you're wondering, Carlos is still sick--no fever, just a sore throat now. Hopefully he'll go back to school on Tuesday ('cause I need some "me" time before I turn into a monster, lol!). 'Cause as you all know, life is all about me, right ;) Happy Monday, y'all!

Nehemiah: Sheep Gate (Symbolism)

hubpages.com http://www.prayfordetroit.com/ As I mentioned in my Nehemiah  post, God has nudged me this summer to study Nehemiah in depth because He has some things He wants to show me.  I am just starting Chapter 5, and I must say it is so exciting and interesting. I have to admit, though, that when I got to Chapter 3, it just looked like one of those boring chapters: it gave all the boring details about each section of the wall of Jerusalem that was being rebuilt, and gave countless names of the people who rebuilt each section.  I was going to skip it and move on to Chapter 4 when I felt the Lord nudge me to look deeper--that there was something here that He wanted to show me.   So I dutifully sought the Lord (and a research book, and the internet!) , and was ASTOUNDED at the incredible layers of symbolism in the names of the gates!  It has turned out to be my favorite chapter so far.  :)  God is incredibly amazing, huh?   The big pi...
