I'm fully recovered from yesterday's "grouch attack," thank you for asking ;)
I only have ten minutes to blog. Then my "break" is up and I have to kick into "Missionettes Mode." :) So I may not make much sense, as I won't be giving much thought to my sentence construction. Good luck to you!
I don't have much time to think about what to blog (I have lots of funny "Carlos" conversations, but I don't have time to recall them.), so I'll blog about the remodel. That sounds easy enough.
This is the picture of the patio door I think I showed you before.
This is how it looks now that they spackled it (or whatever the correct term is, lol!). It's coming along.
She's all, "What did they do to our house?" (her mouth still wide open, and her eyes still popping out of her head).
Me (in a very chipper tone of voice): This is the new color. Isn't it cool?? The guy who painted it said this is the new style ... kind of like a tie-dye effect. And the best part is we're the first ones on the block to have the new style. Pretty soon you'll see this kind of painting on houses everywhere.
Ashley (grimacing big time): It looks like ... like ... we're too poor to paint our house. Is this really the color?
Mean mom: Well, that's what you see, isn't it?
Ashley: No, tell me you're joking. P-L-E-A-S-E tell me this is not the color.
Finally I broke down and told the poor girl the truth. I could already see her envisioning her friends coming over and staring, aghast (sp?), at our house.
That's how I entertained myself last Friday :)
This is a close-up of the "tie-dye" look.
Ta ta for now. (only five minutes past my break time!).

This is how our house has looked since they sandblasted it last Friday.
Funny story to go with this one. Of course, Ashley is all into her "image" now and so it's easy to poke fun at all the stuff that bothers her (including her parents, lol!) because it tarnishes her "cool" image (roll eyes). So last Friday when she came home and saw the house her mouth dropped to the ground in disbelief. I, being a "mean" parent, decided to capitalize on this opportunity.
