So Sorry ... Bad Blogger

So sorry I haven't posted for a week.

Is anyone even reading this anymore, lol!

Sooooo busy with school starting and my Wednesday night church class starting. I feel like I haven't been able to catch my breath

... trying to catch up on housework that got put off during the summer 'cause we were too busy having fun ;)

... trying to work on establishing a routine so our days go more smoothly

... trying to be consistent in working out and having regular quiet time.

... planning our 2nd Annual "Mother-Daughter" Weekend :) just me and my Ashley

... PTA stuff

... working on breathing in between all that, lol!

in short--overwhelmed.

And now for some "good stuff"

We had our first church class tonight and it was SO MUCH FUN!! I wanted to start off the year with something that would create energy and get them excited about coming for the rest of the year. We are working on Visual Arts, so each week we get to do a craft. The girls had a blast, and I had so much fun watching them (and of course listening to their girlie chitter chatter!). They're fourth and fifth graders, and they are too cute! I can't post the pictures I took because I don't have the parents' permission.

And ... the wall (to separate our property from the neighbor's) is being put up tomorrow morning at 7:00 a.m. YEAH!! We've only been separated by a chain link fence for five years, so it'll be REALLY nice to have privacy ... like when I go to the garage in my pajamas to get the laundry, lol!

I've been checking daily for a new post. And disappointed when there wasn't one. So, yes, someone is still reading your blog!

Yes - we are all still reading!! Even though you haven't blogged in a week - I still enjoy seeing Ashley smiling back at me!!

So glad your first class went well - that will set the tone for the whole year!! Very exciting!! It was odd not going to church last night - this is my first year not doing that in several.

It seems like everyone is busy these past couple of weeks with school starting so don't feel too bad. I'm glad your first class started off with fun! It sounds like you're really excited this year! Good job!

Missing You

We've been having internet problems since last Friday evening. It goes on and off sporadically. Someone should be coming today to fix it (and of course it's working perfectly right now, lol!). I don't usually blog in the middle of the day (too much house stuff to do) , but I gotta grab the internet while I can. I'm desperate! It has actually startled me to realize how connected I am to all of you--even you, Ronalyn, and I have never met you. I have so missed reading blogs, commenting on them, and posting. I have really felt disconnected to you all (yeah, I'm a "recovered hick" but I can't erase that expression from my vocabulary--however, I don't say, "y'all." I do draw the line there. Sorry if I'm offending anyone--as in my sister and brother-in-law, but I don't consider you guys hicks.) . So I hope the person who comes to repair the internet issue can perform a miracle so I don't have to miss you anymore :)

Feb Year In Review Layouts

Just a quick post tonight. It dawned on me a few days ago that I'm already behind in my "Year . In . Review" layouts, so I put February's together. Believe it or not, for such a simple concept, these layouts took about three hours combined. I couldn't believe it! Anyway, these photos depict the highlights of February. Maybe tomorrow I'll do March :) (I wonder how many hours that will take?!) Just in case you're wondering, Carlos is still sick--no fever, just a sore throat now. Hopefully he'll go back to school on Tuesday ('cause I need some "me" time before I turn into a monster, lol!). 'Cause as you all know, life is all about me, right ;) Happy Monday, y'all!

Nehemiah: Sheep Gate (Symbolism)

hubpages.com http://www.prayfordetroit.com/ As I mentioned in my Nehemiah  post, God has nudged me this summer to study Nehemiah in depth because He has some things He wants to show me.  I am just starting Chapter 5, and I must say it is so exciting and interesting. I have to admit, though, that when I got to Chapter 3, it just looked like one of those boring chapters: it gave all the boring details about each section of the wall of Jerusalem that was being rebuilt, and gave countless names of the people who rebuilt each section.  I was going to skip it and move on to Chapter 4 when I felt the Lord nudge me to look deeper--that there was something here that He wanted to show me.   So I dutifully sought the Lord (and a research book, and the internet!) , and was ASTOUNDED at the incredible layers of symbolism in the names of the gates!  It has turned out to be my favorite chapter so far.  :)  God is incredibly amazing, huh?   The big pi...
