Oh my gosh!! I am soooooo over-the-top excited right now ... because our school had a Jog-A-Thon today, and I got to be the official photographer!!! Yeah!! It was totally nervewracking (because I'm sooo a novice at this, and what if all the pictures turn out blurry, over/underexposed, if I forget to take certain pictures, etc.). I kept thinking as I was clicking away, "Everyone is counting on ME, little 'ol me, to take some good pictures, and I'm kind of learning as I go. I am going to die of embarrassment if they all come out badly. And I'll be so sad because I won't get asked to take pictures anymore." :(
Well, the PTA President (Hi, Mary Jo!) and I previewed some of the pictures after the Jog-A-Thon and I did get some good ones. But when I looked at home, some of the pictures came out blurry (don't panic, Mary Jo, we still got a bunch of good ones). As I'm looking at these blurry photos, I kept asking myself why--then I figured it out. The shutter speed was a little too slow if they were running fast. Oh well. We still got plenty of good ones. I learned for next time.
I was in shock--I took almost two hundred pictures in two and a half hours! And every moment, as nervewracking as it was, was also so exhilarating.
So, now I have a little over a hundred pictures to edit (those are the good ones) over the next few days, and I'll be gone this weekend. Hmmm. I foresee a few late nights ahead, lol!
I am dying to share some of the photos with you (a few of the best ones), but of course, I would NEVER post any pictures of children without their parents' permission and that's really not possible with 400 students. I won't share the teacher photos, either, because I don't want to ask their permission (what a total wimp I am, huh?!).
