One Nation Under God

As we celebrate Independence Day, I would like to encourage you (if you aren't already) to commit to praying for a widespread Christian revival in our country (and Europe)--especially among young people.  I could be wrong, but it seems like the number of evangelical Christians drops significantly with each successive generation, and that grieves me.

I have been praying off and on for a nationwide revival in our country, but have not made any effort to pray consistently.  I am truly sorry for that, because I believe that if all of the committed Christians banded together and began praying fervently for revival, God would definitely answer our prayers. Today as I was praying, I felt God gently rebuke me for that.  I desperately want to see another "Great Awakening" in our country, and I know that the King of kings and Lord of lords is absolutely ready.

I feel the same way about Europe, especially France.  I have no idea what the current spiritual conditions are in France, but when I was there in the 1991-1992 school year (although I wasn't a committed Christian yet) I sensed strongly that Europe is an continent that is (for the most part) extremely closed to the Good News of Jesus Christ--extremely dead spiritually.  My heart grieves for them as well.

God bless America!  ... AND Europe!

Feb Year In Review Layouts

Just a quick post tonight. It dawned on me a few days ago that I'm already behind in my "Year . In . Review" layouts, so I put February's together. Believe it or not, for such a simple concept, these layouts took about three hours combined. I couldn't believe it! Anyway, these photos depict the highlights of February. Maybe tomorrow I'll do March :) (I wonder how many hours that will take?!) Just in case you're wondering, Carlos is still sick--no fever, just a sore throat now. Hopefully he'll go back to school on Tuesday ('cause I need some "me" time before I turn into a monster, lol!). 'Cause as you all know, life is all about me, right ;) Happy Monday, y'all!

Missing You

We've been having internet problems since last Friday evening. It goes on and off sporadically. Someone should be coming today to fix it (and of course it's working perfectly right now, lol!). I don't usually blog in the middle of the day (too much house stuff to do) , but I gotta grab the internet while I can. I'm desperate! It has actually startled me to realize how connected I am to all of you--even you, Ronalyn, and I have never met you. I have so missed reading blogs, commenting on them, and posting. I have really felt disconnected to you all (yeah, I'm a "recovered hick" but I can't erase that expression from my vocabulary--however, I don't say, "y'all." I do draw the line there. Sorry if I'm offending anyone--as in my sister and brother-in-law, but I don't consider you guys hicks.) . So I hope the person who comes to repair the internet issue can perform a miracle so I don't have to miss you anymore :)
Wow! I am so bugged that I never post anymore. Facebook is just so much easier. I'll just keep it simple-- random data: today I had Pho (Vietnamese soup) for the first time and LOVED it!! Seriously, you haven't lived till you've tried it :) I created two and a half sketches of future layouts, and halfway finished two more layouts. really on a paper-scrapping frenzy! This is one sketch: I joined the Facebook group "I grew up in Fairfield, IL, and thought I would die of boredom (but I didn't)" :D ... you have to have grown up in a dinky town to "get it" had a "day off from life" hanging out at my in-laws house all day ... ahhh! gotta love days like that I can't believe it's almost June already
