Oops.

I know it's been so long since I posted. I guess the holidays overwhelmed me (as in WAY busier than I like to be), and I went on a major cleaning/decorating spree as well as attempting to FINALLY finish the quilt I started in July (think it's about time, lol?!).

The kids started back to school on Monday and I have been able to almost catch up (WHEW!!). In case you're interested, the kids and I:
  • cleaned up the back patio which has been a disaster since the kitchen remodel in November
  • put away all Christmas paraphernelia
  • decluttered all the living areas (except one small area I'll take care of next week)
  • put up curtain rods (that took forever because I don't actually know what I'm doing!--I called in my dad for help, but it still took a few hours)
  • did a thorough cleaning

and since they went back to school this week, in addition to the regular household tasks, I:

  • planned a layout for our cutting garden and vegetable garden
  • bought curtains for the living room/dining room
  • bought and planted the seeds for our gardens
  • KEPT the house clean (which is saying a lot for me)

I'm feeling kind of antsy. I've been spending most of my free time trying to finish Ashley's quilt, and I haven't done any scrapbooking since before the holidays. There's too little time to sneak in all my hobbies on a regular basis. Oh well. (I know ... poor me!) :)

I also like quilting 'cause I can watch my favorite TV shows while I quilt. I'm addicted to HGTV, DIY, nature shows and Court TV (a.k.a. TruTV), especially Forensic Files. I'm also addicted to all the CSI's.

Welcome back, Carm! Glad that you're caught up with all those things! Maybe you can motivate me to do some quilting too!

Feb Year In Review Layouts

Just a quick post tonight. It dawned on me a few days ago that I'm already behind in my "Year . In . Review" layouts, so I put February's together. Believe it or not, for such a simple concept, these layouts took about three hours combined. I couldn't believe it! Anyway, these photos depict the highlights of February. Maybe tomorrow I'll do March :) (I wonder how many hours that will take?!) Just in case you're wondering, Carlos is still sick--no fever, just a sore throat now. Hopefully he'll go back to school on Tuesday ('cause I need some "me" time before I turn into a monster, lol!). 'Cause as you all know, life is all about me, right ;) Happy Monday, y'all!
Wow! I am so bugged that I never post anymore. Facebook is just so much easier. I'll just keep it simple-- random data: today I had Pho (Vietnamese soup) for the first time and LOVED it!! Seriously, you haven't lived till you've tried it :) I created two and a half sketches of future layouts, and halfway finished two more layouts. really on a paper-scrapping frenzy! This is one sketch: I joined the Facebook group "I grew up in Fairfield, IL, and thought I would die of boredom (but I didn't)" :D ... you have to have grown up in a dinky town to "get it" had a "day off from life" hanging out at my in-laws house all day ... ahhh! gotta love days like that I can't believe it's almost June already
